Tamale Metro Football Association crowns Falcons FC as Division Three (3) Champions

Falcons FC, a Division 3 club, owned by the military have been officially crowned as champions of Tamale Metro Football Association’s Division Three League after a 2-2 draw game against Kaladan City in a coronation game played on Saturday, 16th July 2022 at the Air Force base in the Sagnarigu Municipality.

Kaladan City took the lead in the first half with two quick goals from Mohammed Abdul Aziz and Abdulai Mohammed Sheriff in the first half.

Falcons also mounted a spirited come back to record a consolation in the first half and subsequently pulled parity in the Second department of game with the goals registered by Akamaboro Emmanuel and Ajarno Philip to prevent a defeat in the coronation game.

Present to grace the Coronation Ceremony were dignitaries from the football fraternity in the region, notably among them included the Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahama Rhyzo, Member of Northern Regional Sports Committee, Muazu Choo. Also present was Chairman of the Tamale Metro Football Association, Abdullah Aziz Ramzi under whose leadership and supervision the Division Three campaign has become a huge success without hitting a snag.

While Falcons FC were presented with 5 footballs, an amount of 500 Ghana cedis and a glittering trophy by the Tamale Metro Football Association for emerging as the ultimate champions. Tamale Noble Stars were also awarded with 3 footballs as runners-up in the competition.

The glittering trophy was donated to Tamale Metro Football Association by Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahama Rhyzo to be presented to the champions.

In his welcome address, the chairman for Tamale Metro Football Association, Abdullah Abdul Aziz Ramzy, commended Falcons FC for their efforts in emerging as champions of the Division 3 League, but noted that they do not have a guaranteed slot in the Division Two League because TMFA does not have the power to promote since the RFA is the mandated body for promotion duties, adding that the duty of the association is just to produce a candidate to represent the association in a paly-off.

Meanwhile, the TMFA Chairman also acknowledged the fact that the military personnel are partners in football development since they are now part of the Association, thus urged the military force to assist the association with security services.

Squadron Leader Larbi, on behalf of the base commander, lauded TMFA for the guidance and direction through out their campaign journey in their last five years affiliation with the association. He also ceased the occasion to commend Kaladan City for giving them a run for their money as they nearly put wrong smiles on their faces.

Squadron Larbi acknowledged the efforts of Falcons FC for doing yeoman’s job, observing that there there will not be room for excuse as resources will be made available to them enable them bring glories.

Veteran Football coach, Muaz Choo, noted that if management of Falcons FC want to travel far in the football business, then they must support the team financially, advising that they should not only rely on military men for selection of players into their fold, rather they should widen their net to recruit players with what he referred to as 4DS (displine, determination, devotion and dedication).

On his part, the NRFA Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo commended leadership of the air force base for allowing matches to be played at the venue during the Division Two  League campaign.
