Ghana Black Maidens striker Abdulai Salamatu Nte grabbed a hat-trick to steal the headlines on the opening day matches of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) Women’s Division One League on Saturday.
The bandit striker opened the scoring when she powered home from the spot in the 30th minute before grabbing her second, few minutes before halftime.
She completed her hat-trick in the 54th minute when she hit the bottom corner, to seal the victory for Bagabaga Ladies FC.
Tamale Super Ladies FC manhandled Savelugu Yoo Ladies FC at the Kaladan Park when they beat them by 4-0.
One of the teams that secured a win away from home was Kpanvo Future Ladies FC who beat Nasara Ladies FC 2-1 at the Air Force Base Park in Tamale.
FC Savannah Ladies also thrashed K.Y.A. Ladies FC 3-0 at the Bible College park in far away Kumbungu.
Meanwhile, Dahinshɛli Ladies FC came back strongly to secure a point when they drew 2-2 with Young Queens FC at the Stadium Annex 3.
