The Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo on Sunday, October 25, 2020, paid a working visit to the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly.
Accompanied by some Executive Committee (Exco) members, Alhaji Rhyzo toured the astroturf under construction in the municipality to have firsthand information on the progress of work so far.
The government is embarking on a mission to provide astroturf pitches across the country to ensure the promotion of the game of football.
The Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry was therefore formed to ensure that such a mission sees the light of day.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Issahaku Arimeyaw Somo Lucky who interacted with the NRFA Chairman and some regional Exco members, indicated the project is steadily taking shape.
According to him, he was informed that the project was near 100% done and will be ready for use by the people of Walewale very soon.
Alhaji Rhyzo was impressed with the progress of work, describing the facility as a beautiful edifice.
He said “I took advantage of my time in Walewale to inspect the Astroturf project. I was informed the project is near completion and it is a beautiful edifice. The entire soccer fraternity, the youth and opinion leaders of the community cannot wait to use the facility”.
