The Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo has congratulated the National Under-20 Soccer Team, the Black Satellites for winning the WAFU ZONE B Cup.
Speaking to the northernrfa.org after Ghana beat Burkina Faso 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to win the coveted trophy, Alhaji Rhyzo attributed the feat chalked to hard work, unity of purpose as well as performance based selection devoid of bias and favouritism.
The NRFA Capo was full of praise for the technical team who did due diligence in the preparation and selection process thereby coming up with a squad that came up tops when duty called.
He also heaped praises on the playing body for qualifying from the “group of death” and further winning their semifinal encounter against Niger on penalties.
“Throughout the tournament the Satellites have fought gallantly to defend Ghana’s honour and as the tournament progressed every Ghanaian was confident in their ability to lift the trophy
and they made us so proud,” Alhaji Rhyzo noted.
Alhaji Rhyzo commended the FA and indicated that Mr. Kurt Okraku’s words of inspiration on the eve of departure for the tourney in particular, went a long way to keep the boys focused and motivated to die for mother Ghana.
Alhaji Rhyzo who is also a Member of the Black Satellites Management Committee applauded colleague members namely Dr. Randy Abbey, Albert Commey, Samuel Aboabire and Eric Delali Senaya for their able leadership.
